Community Health Initiatives

In the fall of 2014, UnitedHealthcare partnered with several Washington DC area health facilities and organizations to educate the senior community about various health issues, specifically diabetes and heart disease. Information about utility discounts for low-income and elderly was also presented by partner organizations such as DC Water, PEPCO, Verizon and several others. Three Diabetes Symposiums were held in communities of Washington DC with a large low-income senior population and most impacted by health  concerns such as diabetes, hyper-tension, heart disease and more. The series of events helped to educate over 500 seniors, connect with over 15 partner organizations and helped to grow brand awareness in the District.
